BRUSSEL SPROUT

Canada / Pop rock / 1975

Don Perrish and Ken Lush started playing together back in 1972, having been old school pals with ex-members of Custer's Last Stand, a jug band. Later, they moved to Jordan, Ontario and operated under the name of The Amazing Vibrasonics. They later changed name to Brussel Sprout and by the mid-seventies their line-up had stabilised to A above. They signed to MCA and released a debut 45, Dance She Said, in the Summer of 1975. They went on to record an album and two 45s, High In The Rockies and Tryin' To Get Next To You, which were both written and arranged by Tom Treece, the following year. The former climbed to No. 44 in Canada's Charts.

This "BIO" is way off base.
Jeff Benjamin was not with the band for very long.
Denny Moses did 1 West Coast tour.
Glenn Preston was the Bass Player, and they were Brussel Sprout Long before "we" moved to Jordan Ontario.

I was just having a nostolgic moment and remembered an old college friend named Al who introduced me to the band. I got to go to one of their get togethers at the farm in Monroe.......had a great time. I moved out to Washington State and they did a gig in Vancouver and I went up and saw them. After that lost track of what happened to them. I am glad to catch up........I still think they were an awesome band.......so this is just a shout out...........Larry Whalen

The BIO is not "way" off base. Glenn Preston was the bass player up until the album was recorded. After the band signed a deal with MCA Records, they recorded some songs with Glenn. Unhappy with his playing, they decided to replace him and brought in Jeff Benjamin, who played bass on the final 5 or 6 of the songs on the album (Glenn on the other 4). Benjamin then toured with the band promoting the album for the next 1-2 years until the band broke up. Preston was not involved with the band after his termination. Benjamin is credited as THE bass player on the album. Preston is given a "thank you." The BIO is accurate.

Also, as for Denny Moses, he was the drummer on the album, and is given credit as THE drummer. He then toured with the band for up to a year supporting the album. There were several drummers in the band in addition to Denny - before and after his time - but he was the primary drummer and was the one asked to do the studio work. I think that makes him THE drummer.
